Position Summary:

Responsible for managing accounts in the commercial sector.  Will sell and renew business telecommunications/data products and services. Complete all required steps of a defined sales process including identifying customer needs, presenting appropriate solutions, addressing product inquiries and finalizing the sale. The position is not only responsible for contacting existing prospective customers but also building and maintaining a network of colleagues and customers to share information and obtain prospects.

Responsibilities:

  • Make outbound contacts to an assigned base of business accounts on a daily basis to drive incremental sales of key products to include telecommunications/data.  
  • Manage the daily funnel of accounts to ensure contact with a minimum of 20 to 30 existing business customers per day to meet assigned revenue objectives for the market area.
  •  “Cold” call for new potential customers, based on lead referrals, to achieve assigned revenue quotas.
  • Maintain and routinely update business customer profile information including key contacts, product interest, long-term business plans or other information to facilitate future opportunities for sales.
  • Work with customers to understand their telecommunication and data product and service requirements.
  • Complete all administrative tasks as required to ensure timely and accurate records of customer related activities.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer relationships. Conduct retention and “win-back” activities as required.
  • Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years commissioned sales experience that includes active outbound selling to an assigned base of accounts with demonstrated effective selling skills, which includes new business prospecting or the equivalent in training and experience.  
  • Additional or concurrent work experience, which demonstrates strong analytical and applied judgment capabilities or the equivalent in training and experience.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and related software to include word processing, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills to include sales presentations to customers.
  • Strong organization skills.
  • Telecommunications industry experience with working knowledge of voice, data and CPE products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales or Marketing or the equivalent in training and experience.
